Stephanie Cardon

Born in New York City, Stephanie has in fact lived in Europe for most of her life, though she currently calls Boston home. From 2003 to 2008, she was based in Paris (where she grew up) and worked as both a fine-art and commercial photographer, making work for exhibition and for magazines, books and newspapers (among others, Le Monde; House and Garden U.K; French Country Hideaways with Casey O'Brien Blondes and published by Rizzoli).

Since moving to Boston to pursue her MFA at The Massachusetts College of Art and Design (2010), her personal work has broadened to investigate text and narrative using video, installation and book forms, building on her History and Literature studies at Oxford University (B.A. 1999). In her time at MassArt, Stephanie worked as a researcher (Special Collections) and teacher (Digital Photography) and was the recipient of the NEA's John Renna Arts Scholarship.

Currently, she is employed as an Adjunct Professor at UMass Lowell in new media and by MassArt as a technology instructor in the Studio Foundation Department.

Being Franco-American, she tries to work in both languages (and at some point will get around to translating this website!). This explains the double spelling of her name as Stephanie and Stéphanie - in case you were wondering.
