Beacon was commissioned by deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum for their Platform series. It was in the Park from June 2015 to October 2017. As they overlap, the yellow planes of this sculpture created an interference pattern known as moiré. Beacon was sited and designed to change as a visitor moves through the landscape to discover it: at a distance the yellow read as a solid field, up close it separated into individual strands.
